The activities can be set up in less than an hour and will cover a wide range of geology topics from crystal formation to sediment sorting. Question sheets go alongside these activities and offer additional guidance and help to develop critical thinking skills.

RESOURCES

There are many fantastic resources available to learn about mineralogy and geology. Here you can find a few of my favorites. I often cite these sources in our various blog posts.

SMorf Crystal models is a great site that offers multiple tools and a large database of crystal shapes with fantastic references. This site is a must for learning crystallography

QUESTIONS

Feel free to send us a message. Rock collecting, geology, and mineralogy are fantastic hobbies but can be difficult to get into, and reliable information can be hard to find. Sometimes it's even harder to parse. Our staff geologists will be more than happy to try and answer your questions.
